Ewan McGregor was interviewed recently and according to this article – did Robert say that he wanted to make the sequel to Trainspotting. The sequel is called ‘Porno’ and is written by the original author Irvine and it takes place with the surviving characters.

A quote from Ewan:

“They’ve never sent me a script for it. I’d like to work with Danny Boyle again. I’m not sure I’d want to do a sequel to Trainspotting, just because I think Trainspotting is very important. It was an important film for British cinema, and I wouldn’t want to tarnish its reputation by making a poor sequel. That’s not to say they couldn’t write a great script, because they could do that. But I wouldn’t hold your breath.”

So we will just have to wait and see what happens with this project!
